Today’s Eco-friend ♥

H.E.L.P. TRAVEL is a non-profit association whose main goal is to create various journey-missions aiming to bring solidarity and aid to West African populations.
…We propose more than an adventure tour; we invite you to enjoy itineraries created for you to live a unique experience, to bring you where the others haven’t arrived yet.
We have prepared an exclusive cocktail blending sightseeing, discovery and awareness, adding then the main element of a perfect journey: the human contact.
H.E.L.P. Travel will take you to live moments of joy and deep inspiration with groups of kids, families and artists thanks to the opportunity of participating in our Community Development Projects…” -H.E.L.P. Travel
H.E.L.P. Travel’s Eco-policies
- We always travel in small groups (a maximum of 8, average group size of 4) that are less intrusive on villages and in natural areas, where waste treatment is extremely difficult.
- Guests are instructed on arrival about waste disposal and are advised on our “Leave No Trace” policies and principles: leave the area as we found it, not removing anything and taking all unwanted possessions or waste with us until a suitable disposal facility is found.
- We support and practice the art of re-use and recycle wherever possible, and instruct travellers on the utility of these conducts.
- Guests are instructed on water consumption at our Guesthouse for showers and baths; we encourage our travellers to use water sparingly for showering and washing.
- Water is the most precious resource here in Africa, and everywhere in our Planet: Guests are informed about the necessity of local population to walk for miles in order to provide water for their community, and brought to villages where this practice is one of the main daily duty.
- As for respect to this priceless treasure: if it is necessary to wash in streams, avoid detergents and soaps. If there are no toilets available, make sure to be at least 50 metres away from water resources, bury waste and toilet tissue or take it with you…
- Reducing unnecessary lighting, by switching off all electrical equipment when not required.
- We promote, encourage and sponsor the provision of solar panel products and appliances to villages and communities.
- We promote the electronic form of brochures and internet-related sources of information and correspondence, as to reduce considerably paper consumption in terms of print runs and mailing envelopes.
