With the recent “trend” of environmental awareness, it seems that many companies are using this “trend” as a marketing tool without actually practicing sustainability.

A great example of this on a local level is in this article about the eight-page insert for Earth Day in Sunday’s Grand Rapids Press; The Grand Rapids Press and Earth Day published by Media Mouse.

It is important that the public educate themselves and not fall into these traditional marketing traps used solely to sell products or services.
The environment is not a trend and should not be treated as one.
