Consumers Energy has implemented a renewable energy program, green generation which is Green-e certified. This renewable energy is produced here, in Michigan from 5% wind and 95% biomass.

Buying local can greatly reduce the impact on the environment and is beneficial to the social and economic development within our communities. Local First is an organization promoting local businesses in the Grand Rapids area. Similar organizations in other cities are listed at the end of this post.
